Fundraising Toolkit
Chapter Fundraising Requirement
All Unite For Sight chapters are required to fundraise a minimum of $300 per academic year, and each Community Fellow must be actively involved with the chapter's fundraising efforts. The fundraising deadlines are listed in the Chapter Manual. Fundraising is an important activity of every chapter, and 100% of the funds raised provide eye care to patients living in extreme poverty in Ghana, Honduras, and India. The average cost of a cataract surgery is $50, and all of your fundraising activities are very important to the patients living in developing countries. Chapters that raise at least $2,500 will receive a Chapter Fundraiser of the Year Award, and chapters raising at least $5,000 will receive a Chapter Humanitarian Award.
Chapter Fundraising Policy
Unite For Sight maintains the highest standard for financial responsibility, and we focus on financial ethics, efficiency, and resource maximization. 100% of all donations go directly to providing eye care for patients living in extreme poverty, and 0% goes to any other purpose.
Likewise, 100% of all funds raised by Unite For Sight chapters must be submitted to Unite For Sight to provide eye care for patients living in extreme poverty. No funds can be retained by the chapter for any other purpose. All fundraising and donations must be submitted to Unite For Sight within 30 days of receipt.
