Ethics, Quality, and Equality: Online Global Health Course

Applying best practice principles in global health helps to ensure the maximum beneficial impact of any global health endeavor.  This online course discusses the importance of best practices to effect widespread, fundamental change in global health.  This course also raises awareness and understanding that "worst practice" principles that are often employed by some organizations can do significant harm.

Unite For Sight applies best practices in eye care, public health, and volunteerism to achieve our goal of high quality eye care for all. While making a high-impact difference to eliminate preventable blindness, Unite For Sight is training the next generation of leaders in global health. Our priority is to instill in our volunteers a thorough understanding of sustainable best practice "gold standard" principles in global health and development. While participating in Unite For Sight's programs abroad, our volunteers are immersed in effective, high quality programs that achieve measurable change. All Unite For Sight volunteers participating in Global Impact Corps (Volunteer Abroad Program) and North America Chapters are required to complete this Unite For Sight Online Global Health Course.

Volunteering in Ghana with Unite For Sight was a fantastic experience, one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Nothing can take away my six weeks, nor could leaving remove my new found dedication and determination to continue and help fight against blindness and preventable eye diseases in poverty-stricken countries. I look forward to my return as the spirit of Ghana forever resides in my soul.
