Summary of Research Results: Revanth Kosaraju

Unite For Sight Global Impact Fellow volunteers frequently pursue public health research studies in Unite For Sight's Global Impact Lab program. The research topics are developed by Unite For Sight and the partner eye clinics, the research studies are approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB), and the research findings are submitted to the eye clinic partners for program development.

Revanth Kosaraju, "Elucidating the Factors Influencing Low Child Participation in Pranav Foundation Community Eye Outreaches in Chennai, India"

This study aims to identify barriers to eye care for children living in Chennai, India. Data was collected from 30 patients, who collectively had 50 children under the age of 18. Participants were asked questions related to socioeconomic background and eye health history. 10 of the 50 children were in attendance at the outreach. There were no major differences in terms of gender, age or poverty level between those who attended and those who did not. Of the 40 who were not in attendance, 27 were unable to attend due to a conflict with school.
