Aron Rose, MD, Discusses Volunteering Abroad With Unite For Sight

Dr. Rose (Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Yale University), his wife, and three daughters (ages 17, 18, and 20) participated as Unite For Sight volunteers in Accra and Tamale, Ghana, during Summer 2007. Dr. Rose discusses his experience as an ophthalmologist volunteering with Unite for Sight, as well as the experience of his daughters, who assisted Unite For Sight's local ophthalmic nurses with providing screenings in rural villages. As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Rose participated in rural village screenings with Unite For Sight's ophthalmic nurses, and he also worked with Unite For Sight's partner Ghanaian ophthalmologists, Dr. Clarke and Dr. Wanye, to provide surgical care for the patients living in extreme poverty.
