Dr. Rose (Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Yale University), his wife, and three daughters (ages 17, 18, and 20) participated as Unite For Sight volunteers in Accra and Tamale, Ghana, during Summer 2007. As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Rose participated in rural village screenings with Unite For Sight's ophthalmic nurses, and he also worked with Unite For Sight's partner Ghanaian ophthalmologists, Dr. Clarke and Dr. Wanye, to provide surgical care for the patients living in extreme poverty. Dr. Rose will discuss cataract blindness and its prevention and impact in the developing world.
