New York Institute of Technology Chapter Receives Campus Awards
In April, the New York Institute of Technology chapter was awarded by Unite For Sight as the 2006-2007 chapter of the year. Julia Nemiroff, founding president of the NYIT chapter, was presented with the award on April 14th at the Unite For Sight Fourth Annual International Health Conference at Stanford University. In addition to the award for the NYIT chapter, Julia Nemiroff was also presented with an individual humanitarian service award in recognition of her remarkable leadership and commitment to improving eye health for children and adults.
New York Institute of Technology also recognized the outstanding dedication and achievements of the chapter of Unite For Sight led by Julia Nemiroff. In May, the President of New York Institute of Technology awarded the chapter as the Best Organization of 2007, on the grounds that the chapter contributed most to campus life and to the community. As President of the Unite for Sight Chapter, Julia Nemiroff was awarded by NYIT as Volunteer Of The Year. At NYIT's Student Government Awards, the chapter was awarded Outstanding Organization of Spring 2007.
Julia Nemiroff founded the chapter less than one year ago and has made remarkable contributions to Unite For Sight and to her local community. "Julia's leadership of the NYIT chapter has been incredible, and it is a true honor to work with her. We are very happy that NYIT has also recognized Julia's remarkable volunteer efforts with awards to her and to the chapter," said Jennifer Staple, Founder, President, and CEO of Unite For Sight.
