Ooh La-La de Paris Donates 3,100 Eyeglasses to Unite For Sight's International Programs

Connecticut - February 7, 2005 - The eyewear company Ooh La-La de Paris donated 1100 new frames and 2,000 used eyewear to Unite For Sight's international programs. Unite For Sight Volunteer Teams in African, Asian, and Latin American countries will prescribe the donated eyeglasses to children and adults.

Over one billion people need eyeglasses in developing countries, but the excessive cost and lack of eye doctors are significant barriers. Unite For Sight Volunteer Teams travel to 25 countries to provide eye care and eye health education programs to medically underserved communities.

"We are very grateful to Ooh La-La de Paris for their generous donation. The children and adults with whom we work will be delighted to receive the beautiful eyewear," said Jennifer Staple, Founder, President and CEO of Unite For Sight.

Dr. Raul Arencibia, CEO of Ooh La-La de Paris, thanked Unite For Sight for "doing what you do. As one of two eye doctors who own Ooh La-La de Paris eyewear, I certainly can relate to what you are doing."

Ooh La-La de Paris - "Eye Candy...bon appetit!" - is based in West Hollywood, California. The company designs and sells 95 different frames that follow the European trends very closely from season to season.
