Ghanaian Ophthalmologists To Speak at U.S. Universities
Unite For Sight's partner Ghanaian ophthalmologists Dr. James Clarke and Dr. Seth Wanye have an unparalleled ability to inspire and motivate audiences to make an impact in the world. In November 2008, both ophthalmologists will offer university audiences a unique perspective on global health, international development, and eye care, as they travel throughout the United States to speak at a dozen universities.

Dr. Wanye’s Presentation Title: “Health in Africa: Perspectives From The Only Ophthalmologist For 2 Million People in Northern Ghana”
Dr. Wanye is an ophthalmologist at The Eye Clinic of Tamale Teaching Hospital in Northern Ghana, coordinator of Unite For Sight's programs in Tamale, and he is a member of Unite For Sight's Medical Advisory Board. He is the only ophthalmologist for more than 2 million people in the Northern Region of Ghana. He is also a part-time lecturer at the University for Development Studies in Tamale, Ghana.

Dr. Clarke’s Presentation Title: “Unite For Sight: A Symbol of Hope for the (Poor) Blind Villagers and Refugees in Ghana”
Dr. Clarke is an ophthalmologist at Crystal Eye Clinic in Accra, Ghana, Director of Unite For Sight's Ghana Programs, and a member of Unite For Sight's Medical Advisory Board. He also holds a Diploma in Community Health and Tropical Medicine from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in Germany. He is the only ophthalmologist providing corneal transplantation in Ghana.
