Astigmatism

What?

This is an eye condition in which objects appear blurred and distorted because the cornea is uneven and curved. A cylindrical lens can be used to correct the image.

The top image shows how the light enters the eye but is blurred and distorted. The bottom image shows how a cylindrical lens can correct astigmatism.

Annually, 1 in 1,000 people have significant eye injuries. Baseball & basketball are the leading causes of ocular injuries.
