Resources for Monthly Teacher Outreach Workshop Program
Teachers are in a unique position to identify potential visual problems among their students, and they can work with parents to ensure that children are connected with free health coverage programs so that they can receive a complete eye exam by an eye doctor. Unite For Sight's chapters are therefore required to hold at least one workshop per month for school teachers in order to train them to identify potential visual problems (i.e. squinting, headaches, closing one eye, difficulty reading, etc.) and train them to link children and their families with free health coverage programs so that they can receive an eye exam by an eye doctor. Included below are the resources that have been prepared for you to implement this important program. With all of our chapters this year, our Community Fellows will be able to train teachers throughout the country who will directly reach 80,000 students.
