With 22 years of experience in public health, Unite For Sight is an esteemed non-profit global health delivery organization that is renowned as the highest quality global health immersion and volunteer abroad program worldwide. Unite For Sight is comprised of public health experts and social entrepreneurs who produce innovative programs and implement unparalleled healthcare strategies that eliminate patient barriers to care. Unite For Sight's Global Impact Fellows have an opportunity to learn from and participate in the organization's healthcare delivery programs.
Unite For Sight is frequently recognized for its effective, quality healthcare delivery programs. In 2011, Caroline Kennedy presented the John F. Kennedy New Frontier Award to Unite For Sight's Founder and CEO, Jennifer Staple-Clark. The award "honors an individual whose contributions in the realm of community service, advocacy or grassroots activism have elevated the debate or changed the landscape with respect to a public issue or issues." Past winners have included Wendy Kopp (Founder, Teach For America) and Cory Booker (Mayor of Newark, New Jersey). Unite For Sight has also been recognized by the American Institute of Public Service's National Jefferson Award For Public Service, which is regarded as the "Nobel Prize" for public service.
Unite For Sight won an Ashoka Changemakers competition. The competition, entitled "Making More Health: Achieving Individual, Family, and Community Well-Being," sought to identify and support innovations from around the world that transform the field of health to sustainably increase individual, family, and community well-being. Unite For Sight was one of three winners selected from more than 470 entries from 82 countries.
In recognition of Unite For Sight's sustainable healthcare delivery programs that represent "excellence in promoting and embodying ethical integrity," Unite For Sight's CEO is the recipient of Villanova University's 2013 Praxis Award in Professional Ethics. This award "celebrates the contributions of a professional or academic in the field of professional ethics." In 2015, Middlebury College's Center for Social Entrepreneurship presented Unite For Sight’s CEO with the Vision Award "to recognize leadership and vision in the world of social entrepreneurship." She is also the recipient of the Yale School of Public Health's Centennial Leadership Innovation Award and the The St. Dominic Award from Albertus Magnus College, recognizes an individual or organization whose mission, values, and practices embody the College's core values.
Unite For Sight has also been featured in major media outlets. Nicholas Kristof featured Unite For Sight twice in his columns in The New York Times, and Unite For Sight was also featured weekly for a full year on CNN International.
